Christmas Program, 4 p.m., Tyreeanna United Methodist Church, 5219 Tyreeanna Road, entitled, "An Old Fashioned Christmas In Tyreeanna," presented by Tyreeanna Choir.


Women In Red Program, 5 p.m., First Baptist Church Coolwell, guest preacher, Minister Pearl Braxton, with music by her daughters.


Christmas Play, 5 p.m., Mt. Plain Baptist Church, 3746 Johnson Mt. Road, Evington, entitled, "Christmas Family Reunion," followed by a fellowship meal. Sponsored by The United Sunday School Fellowship of Evington & Vicinity.

Gospel Concert, 6 p.m., Bethany-Ebenezer UMC, 663 Dearingford Road, Lynch Station, featuring Bishop Hardy and the Sons of Thunder, along with an opening group.

Christmas Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Yellow Branch Baptist Church, 8395 Wards Road, Rustburg, many vendors will be present for your Christmas shopping, and baked goods will be for sale.

Candle Light Service, 6 p.m., Fifth Street Baptist Church, 1007 Fifth St., Pastor Moore will deliver the Christmas Sermon, with music will be provided by the combined choirs of Fifth Street.

Advent Adult Offerings, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., St. John's Episcopal Church, 200 Boston Ave., (1) NOOMA: films exploring our world from Jesus' perspective, featuring Rob Bell; (2) Book discussion: Emergence Christianity: What It Is, Where It Is Going, and Why It Matters, by Phyllis Tickle.

Advent Cantata, 10 a.m., Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5810 Fort Ave., the Chancel Choir will present "Nun Komm, Der Heiden Heiland" (Now Come, Savior of the Heathens), under the direction of Dr. Jong Kim. Featured soloists, Lynchburg College students, Gillie Martin, soprano and Tevin Ware, tenor, and Chancel Choir member, Gerald Doyle, bass; and organist, Rose Peak and a woodwind ensemble.
